Experienced Counselor in Maryland

Everyone deserves to live their ideal life. This is why there is not a one size fits all approach to therapy. Your journey is your own. However, the idea of entering into the unknown can feel uncomfortable. My goal is to build a counseling relationship with you that makes you feel heard, understood, and not judged. I will help guide you on your journey to self discovery, not give you answers. My foundation is a person centered approach. This means that I will provide you with unconditional positive regard, congruence, and empathy because these are things that I believe every person deserves on a human level. I will also integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness techniques. In addition, I have experience working with adolescents and adults with substance use disorders. I provide authentic and supportive therapy that meets you where you are so that we are able to determine where you want to go. I have experience working with a myriad of mental health diagnoses, but I specialize in trauma.

My Education

I received a Bachelor of Science degree with a certification in working with Children & Families in 2003. Since that time I have worked in various settings including outpatient substance abuse, crisis, and community mental health agencies. I completed my Master of Science in Counseling from McDaniel College and became a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor thereafter. I am presently working toward specializing in trauma studies.
