I am a licensed Certified Social Worker- Clinical (LCSW-C) with over 30 years of experience. I provide play therapy for children, adult therapy,  and family therapy for clients with many different needs and backgrounds. I work with clients who are have anxiety, mood disturbances, communication problems, life transitions, autism/spectrum disorder, low self-esteem, behavioral/emotional adjustments, and substance abuse/addiction to name a few. My goal is to help you learn how to cope with concerns you are experiencing and identify way to alleviate these issues. Working together to improve your coping and life skills. I am here to help you get started or continue your journey towards an improved you!

My Education

I have worked in a variety of settings providing therapy to clients, such as residential, inpatient, intensive outpatient centers, school-based setting, and substance abuse programs. I am a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Profession (CCATP), Certified Clinical Tehelmental Health Provider (CCTHP) and have specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) and Substance Abuse/Addictions. My approach to therapy is a strengthen-based, collaborative and multidimensional. I use a multitude of approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, family systems, mindfulness-based techniques, play therapy, and person-centered are some that I employ in the therapy sessions.

Lorrie graduated from the University of Maryland with a Master’s degree in Social Work and Bachelors of Social Work from James Madison University.

She currently holds independent clinical licensure in Maryland as a Licensed Certified Social Worker – Certified (LCSW-C) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
